المستخلص: إن الحديث عن المتطلبات التربوية للقرن الواحد والعشرين يقودنا حتما للتطرق إلى تدريس التفكير بجميع أنواعه باعتباره أهم المهارات الذهنية التي يجب أن يكتسبها المتعلم. فالتدريب على التفكير أضحي الشغل الشاغل للمفكرين وعلماء التربية بالتحديد لأنه سبيل إعداد المتعلم لمواجهة تحديات هذا القرن، كالانفجار المعلوماتي والتطور التقني السريع والعولمة وآثارها والتحولات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية السريعة. لذلك أصبح لزاما تزويد المتعلم باستراتيجيات تساعده على التأقلم مع كل هذه المعطيات، عبر تزويده بمهارات التفكير المختلفة كتعلم كيفية التعلم (learning how to learn) والتفكير الناقد (critical thinking) والتفكير الإبداعي (creative thinking) وحل المشكلات (problem solving). غير أن السؤال الكبير هو: كيف يتسنى لنا توفير ذلك في حين أن مناهجهنا الدراسية لازالت تعاني من مشاكل كثيرة خاصة ما تعلق منها بطرق التدريس التي لا زالت تعتمد على التلقين المباشر (rote teaching) وتهدف بالدرجة الأولي إلى إعداد طلبة قادرين على الإجابة على أسئلة الامتحانات فحسب كون نتائج تلك الامتحانات تمثل المعيار الأساسي لنجاح المنظومة التربوية؟ وعلى الرغم من التقدم الهائل الذي حققه الغرب في مجال تدريس التفكير عموما، وفيما يتعلق بالنظريات والنماذج والأساليب التي ابتكرت لتطوير هذه المهارة خصوصا فإننا لم يتمكنوا من استثمار ذلك، ولا زالنا في حيرة من أمرنا حول أنجع الطرق لإدخال تدريس التفكير في العملية التربوية، والنموذج الأنسب الذي يمكن اتباعه لتطوير هذه المهارة لدي المتعلمين. إن مؤسسات التعليم العالي – ممثلة بالجامعات – لها دور كبير في تنمية المجتمع، إذ تمثل ورش عمل حقيقية، لتدريب الطلبة على مهارات التفكير، ومن نافلة القول، إن العملية التعليمية في الجامعات، تعتمد – بدرجة أساسية – على الأستاذ الجامعي، إذ له مكانته الكبيرة والمؤثرة، بما يمتلك من فرص كبيرة للتأثير في طلابه، وبالتالي فإن المتوقع منه، أن يكون أستاذا فاعلا قبل أن يكون باحثا متميزا.

Talking about the educational requirements of the twenty-first century inevitably leads us to address the teaching of thinking in all its forms as the most important mental skill that the learner must acquire. Training in thinking has become a preoccupation for thinkers and educators, in particular, because it is a way to prepare the learner to face the challenges of this century, such as the information explosion, rapid technological development, globalization, and its effects, and rapid social, economic and political transformations. Therefore, it has become necessary to provide the learner with strategies that help him adapt to all this information by giving him different thinking skills, such as learning how to learn, critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem-solving. However, the big question is: How can we provide this when our curricula still face many problems, especially those related to teaching methods that still depend on rote teaching and it primarily aims to prepare students who are able to answer exam questions only because the results of those exams represent the basic criterion for the success of the educational system? Despite the tremendous progress made by the West in the field of teaching thinking in general, and concerning the theories, models, and methods that were devised to develop this skill in particular, we have not been able to invest that, and we are still confused about the most effective ways to introduce the teaching of thinking into the educational process and the most appropriate model which can be followed to develop this skill for learners. Higher education institutions - represented by universities - have a major role in the development of society, as they represent real workshops to train students in thinking skills. It goes without saying that the educational process in universities depends - to a fundamental degree - on the university professor, as he has a great and influential position, with great opportunities to influence his students.
