|a إن قيام الحضارات وزوالها من أعظم المباحث الفكرية والتي لها اتصال وثيق بحياة الناس وعلاقتهم ببعض أفرادا كانوا أم مجتمعات، ولقيام الحضارات أسباب، كما أن لزوالها أسبابا أخرى، وقد اعتنى مفكرو الإسلام ببيان تلك الأسباب، والكشف عنها، واستخلاصها من نصوص القرآن الكريم. وكان من أولئك المفكرين الذين اعتنوا بدارسة تلك الأسباب: ابن خلدون. وقد جاء هذا البحث بدراسة أسباب زوال الحضارات وبقائها من خلال القصص القرآنية، ومن خلال التوجيهات المباشرة للأمة الإسلامية، ومن خلال ما قرره ابن خلدون. وقد توصل البحث إلى أن الثقافة الإسلامية تتميز بأنها ثقافة شاملة متكاملة، تملك أهدافا سامية نبيلة، وتهدف إلى بناء حضارة إنسانية متكاملة من جميع الجوانب الروحية والمادية.

|b The establishing and demising civilizations is one of the greatest intellectual topics that have close contact with the lives of people and their relationship with each other whether individuals or societies. As for establishing civilizations there are reasons, just as their demise has other reasons. The thinkers of Islam have taken care to show and reveal those reasons, and extract them from the texts of the holy Quran. Among those thinkers who studied these causes were Ibn Khaldun. This research came to study the causes of the demise and survival of civilizations through the Quranic stories, through the direct directions of the Islamic nation, and through what Ibn Khaldun. The research has concluded that the Islamic culture is distinguished by being a comprehensive integrated culture that has noble and sublime goals, and aims to build an integrated human civilization from all spiritual and material aspects.
