المستخلص: تتناول هذه الدراسة بعض آليات ووسائل الكشف عن مقاصد السور القرآنية مع بيان أهمية ذلك؛ كالاهتمام بالوقوف على أسماء السور، والنظر في البيئة والأجواء التي نزلت فيها السورة والكشف عن أبرز موضوعاتها ومحاورها، وأوجه التناسبات بين السور المتحاورة وآياتها وغير ذلك. كما تتناول بالتطبيق لبعض هذه المسالك على سورة التوبة للتوصل إلى أن مقصود السورة الأساسي هو التوبة. الأمر الذي يدحض العديد من الشبهات المثارة حول سورة التوبة وغالب آياتها وخاصة ما اشتهر بآية السيف. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى العديد من النتائج منها: أهمية السير وفق الآليات والمسالك التي تسهم في التوصل إلى استنباط اجتهادي سديد لمقاصد السورة في ضوء مقاصد القرآن العظيم من التوحيد، التزكية والعمران. كما أكدت الدراسة أهمية مراجعة ما تداوله كثير من المفسرين في القديم والحديث حول مقاصد السور القرآنية وخاصة سورتي الأنفال والتوبة نظرا لما شاع حول السورتين من تأويلات مغالية منحرفة، أفسدت ظواهر الآيات فيهما الداعية إلى جهاد النفس والترقي بها وتحقيق زكاتها، ونشر قيم الإسلام وعدالته وسماحته واحترام كرامة الإنسان ضمن الحديث المتواصل عن القتال.

This study examines certain mechanisms and means to reveal the purposes of the Qur’ānic Sūrahs and demonstrate the importance thereof, e.g. to give due consideration to the names of the Sūrahs, understand and recognize the surrounding circumstances and conditions of the revelation of the Sūrahs and detect their most prominent topics and axes etc. It also deals with the application of such paths to Sūrat At-Tawbah in order to reach the fact that the main purpose of this Sūrah is Repentance. This refutes many of the suspicions aroused about Sūrat At-Tawbah and its verses, especially that which is known as the Sword Verse (’Āyatussayf). The study comes up with many results, including the importance of following the mechanisms and paths that contribute to reaching a correct discretionary inference of the purposes of the Sūrah in light of the general purposes of the Holy Qur’ān such as monotheism, self-purification and urbanism. The study also emphasizes the necessity of reviewing the deliberations and comments of many old and recent interpreters about the purposes of the Qur’ānic Sūrahs, especially those of Al-Anfāl and At-Tawbah Sūrahs, given the exaggerated and distorted interpretations of both Sūrahs. These interpretations corrupt the intended meanings of the verses which call man to struggle against his lower self, purify it and purge it of sins, and to promote the values of Islam such as justice, tolerance and respect for human dignity rather than to fight and force people to embrace Islam as alleged by such recurring groundless interpretations.
