المستخلص: تعد قضية التوفيق بين الدين والفلسفة من أهم القضايا التي شغلت عقول المفكرين والفلاسفة عبر العصور مع اختلاف الفلسفات والمناهج والأفكار، وقد بحث فلاسفة الإسلام هذه القضية، سواء فلاسفة المشرق أم فلاسفة المغرب، وأدلى كل واحد منهم بدلوه في القضية، وتظهر مشكلة البحث في الإجابة عن الأسئلة التالية: هل كانت مسألة التوفيق حاضرة في الفلسفتين الشرقية والغربية باعتبارهما فلسفة إسلامية؟ هل كان التناول فيهما متفقا أم كان مختلفا؟ ما حدود هذا الاتفاق أو الاختلاف؟ ما نظرية كل من الكندي وابن طفيل في التوفيق بين الدين والفلسفة؟ وقد تحدث البحث عن كل من الكندي وابن طفيل من حيث: الترجمة، دوافع التوفيق، جوانب التوفيق، وتناول التوفيق بين الدين والفلسفة بين فلاسفة المشرق وفلاسفة المغرب، والمقارنة بين التوفيق بين الكندي وابن طفيل. ومع الاختلاف في التوفيق بين الدين والفلسفة بين فلاسفة المشرق وفلاسفة المغرب، حيث أخذت هذه القضية حيزا كبيرا في المغرب العربي بخلاف المشرق؛ إلا أنه قد اتفقت آراء الكندي وابن طفيل في التوفيق بين الدين والفلسفة في عدة جوانب، واختلفت في جوانب أخرى، لكن يمكن الجزم أنهما يسيران معا في اتجاه التقريب بين الدين والفلسفة.

Reconciling between philosophy and religion can be counted as one of the most important matters that has busied the minds of intellectuals and philosophers throughout the ages, irrespective of their philosophies, methodologies, and views. The philosophers of Islam also researched this topic, whether it was the philosophers of the east or the west, and each offered their own insights into the question. This paper seeks to address the following questions: Was the question of reconciliation present in both the eastern and western philosophies due primarily to the fact that they were Islamic philosophies? Did they agree or disagree? To what extent did they agree or disagree? What were the views of both al-Kindī and Ibn Ṭufayl when it comes to the question of reconciling religion with philosophy? The paper addresses al-Kindī’s and Ibn Ṭufayl’s: Biographies, what drove them to reconciliation, the various areas of reconciliation, the various forms of reconciliation between religion and philosophy among the philosophers of the east and west, comparing the reconciliation of al-Kindī and ibn Ṭufayl . While there were differences between how the philosophers of the east and the west reconciled between religion and philosophy; this played a much larger role in the Arab west in contrast to the east. Despite this fact, the opinions of al-Kindī and Ibn Ṭufayl in reconciling between philosophy and religion were similar in many aspects and differed in others. However, one can say with certainty that they both sought to bring philosophy and religion closer to each other.
