"تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تأريخ نشأة وتطور مكتبة الهيئة العامة للمطابع الأميرية، بالإضافة إلى بيان ورصد واقع المكتبة من خلال طبيعة الموقع والمبنى والتجهيزات، وكذلك التعرف على سمات وخصائص العاملين في المكتبة، وبيان خصائص مجموعات مكتبة، ورصد طبيعة الخدمات التي تقدمها، والتعرف على التحديات التي تواجه المكتبة والفرص المتوافرة أمامها، والتعرف على سمات وخصائص المستفيدين من المكتبة والصعوبات التي تواجههم؛ وذلك من أجل وضع رؤية لتطوير المكتبة في ظل واقعها الحالي والاتجاهات العالمية المناظرة لها. اعتمدت الدراسة على منهج دراسة الحالة لتحقيق أهدافها والإجابة على تساؤلاتها. وقد قامت الباحثة بإعداد أدوات جمع البيانات المتمثلة في قائمة المراجعة لرصد وبيان واقع مجموعات المكتبة، كما تم إعداد استبيان للمستفيدين من المكتبة للتعرف على مدى الإفادة من المكتبة وخدماتها ومقترحاتهم لتطوير الخدمات المقدمة. كما قامات الباحثة باستخدام المقابلات الشخصية كأحد أدوات جمع البيانات لاستكمال جمع البيانات الأخرى المتعلقة بمكتبة الهيئة العامة لشئون المطابع الأميرية، كما قامت الباحثة بتحليل للمصادر الوثائقية والسجلات والمستندات والتقارير لدراسة حالة المكتبة كحالة واحدة وفريدة من نوعها."
