من المعالم البارزة في القرن العشرين تعدد رقعة الفنون بما في ذلك المسرح وذلك بتوسيع تفاعلاته المتعددة في كافة التخصصات في النقد والفلسفة، إذ تقوم هذه التفاعلات في التأثير على النشاط المسرحي بمعظم توجهاته واتجاهاته وخبراته في هيمنة النقد والفلسفة وتأثيرها على المسرح يصبح ضرورة لازمة في تتبع ذلك الفن من ناحية التأليف والتحضير للمسرحية بالشكل الإخراجي والسنغرافي، ولاشك أن الممثل هو أحد أهم العناصر الفنية التي لا يمكن الاستغناء عنه ككائن حي له حركاته اليومية العديد في توظيف رموز الأداء في محاولة الاستفادة منها كممثل مع باقي عناصر وأفكار العرض ويعمل الجسد كعلامات مؤثرة في صياغة العرض المسرحي؛ الأمر الذي دفع الباحث إلى التحقيق في أهم رموز أداء جسد الممثل وكيفية فهمها والاستفادة منها في تشكيل وإعداد شكل العرض المسرحي فنياً وفلسفياً وجمالياً؛ لهذا ارتأى الباحث عنوان بحثه الموسوم بـــ (شفـرات الأداء الجسدي للممثل فـي المسرح العراقي/ نماذج مختارة) إذ تناول الباحث الفصل الأول: الإطار المنهجي في طرح إشكالية البحث وتحديد أهمية البحث وأهدافه أما الفصل الثاني: الإطار النظري في المبحث الأول: الجسد والمسرح والمبحث الثاني: الجسد وأهمية المسرحية وتناول الباحث في الفصل الثالث إجراءات البحث إذ تم اختيار عينات البحث التي تتناسب مع أهداف البحث التي يسعى إلى تحقيقها المتمثلة في مسرحية "عطيل" من تأليف علي طالب؛ أما الفصل الرابع تضمن نتائج البحث والمصادر والمراجع.
