|a تناول البحث الراهن اضطراب التوحد من ناحية اجتماعية باعتباره مشكلة من أعقد المشكلات التي تواجه المجتمعات في العالم، وأهم الآثار الاجتماعية والنفسية والاقتصادية المرافقة لوجود طفل توحدي في الأسرة، وما مدى جاهزية واستعداد الأسر لتقبل هذا الطفل، والتنويه إلى أهمية تثقيف وتوعية الأهالي بضرورة الإلمام ومعرفة كل جوانب هذا الاضطراب، وإرشادهم إلى أفضل الطرق والأساليب المتبعة للتعامل مع الأطفال التوحديين من خلال برامج تدريبية وعلاجية خاصة، لإكسابهم المهارات اللازمة لاستمرار حياتهم ودمجهم مع الأطفال الآخرين ، ليكونوا جزءا من بيئة اجتماعية كبيرة، ولزيادة فرص النجاح أمامهم ولمساعدتهم وأسرهم على مواجهة الضغوط التي يفرضها عليهم المجتمع.
