أحس الباحث بكثرة العمال غير العرب الذين يعملون في البحرين؛ ولاحظ الباحثان كيف يتواصل العمال الأجانب غير العرب مع العرب؛ فيلاحظ أن لغة التواصل هي لغة دارجية؛ وكذلك خليط بين العربية والإنجليزية؛ من هنا فكر الباحث في تصميم منهج للغة العربية يعين العمالة غير العربية في الحديث باللغة العربية الفصيحة على المستوى الابتدائي؛ الكتاب صمم للمستويات الابتدائية للناطقين بغير العربية، أي للمستويين الأول والثاني. لقد أصبح الخليج بصورة عامة والبحرين بصورة خاصة قبلة للعمالة الوافدة منذ زمن سحيق؛ قطعًا هذا الجذب له ما يبرره؛ فالبحرين تتمتع بسيادة الجو الودي واحترام الأجنبي مهما كان عاملًا أم موظفًا؛ فالكل أمام القوانين سواء. ومن ضمن العمالة الوافدة من لا يعرف العربية ولم يمارسها إلا في الصلاة؛ من هنا أحس الباحث بأهمية مساعدة العمالة الوافدة في اكتساب بعض المفردات اللغوية؛ ومن ثم المحادثة باللغة العربية؛ لذا جاء تصميم هذا الكتاب عله يعين العامل والموظف غير العربي في متطلباته اليومية. الكتاب احتوى على عشر وحدات ودروس متنوعة؛ ومنها "التعارف" بين الوافد ومواطن بحريني، والتعرف إلى الأسرة وأعضائها في اللغة العربية، كذلك التعرف بالمهن المختلفة للموظف والعامل. ومن دروس الكتاب "المطار" والمصطلحات المتعلقة بالسفر مثل الجواز. احتوى الكتاب على درس المطعم وما يحتويه من ما لذ وطاب من الأطعمة العربية. الكتاب احتوى على درس السوق الذي غالبًا ما يعمل فيه العامل أو الموظف الوافد فعرفه ببعض الأسواق المركزية في البحرين؛ لم يغفل الكتاب الجانب الصحي فأفرد له درسًا وهو "في المستشفى". اختتم الكتاب بتدريبات شفهية وكتابية. نأمل أن يفيد الكتاب غير الناطقين بالعربية، وهو خطوة أولى لسلسلة من الكتب في طريقها للتصميم منها اللغة العربية للدبلوماسيين واللغة العربية للسياحة واللغة العربية للجنود.
