|b Our article focuses on the social representations of visual impairment in people who suffer from it. We have dealt with this question in order to understand the elaboration and the organization of the content of this social representation. Through a comparative approach, using central core theory in the study of social representation, we have attempted to study the difference between women's and men's social representation of vision loss. The results show different organizations in women compared to men that mark this difference between social representations of the same representational object; visual impairment, in both sexes. A difference relating to the subjective experiences of each of these people.

|d Notre article porte sur les représentations sociales de la déficience visuelle chez les personnes qui en souffrent. Nous avons traité cette question dans un but de compréhension de l’élaboration et de l’organisation du contenu de cette représentation sociale. Par le biais d’une approche comparative et en utilisant la théorie du noyau central dans l’étude des représentations sociales, nous avons tenté d’étudier la différence qui existe entre les représentations sociales des femmes et celles des hommes de la perte de leur vision. Les résultats montrent des organisations différentes. Les femmes comparées aux hommes n’ont pas la même représentation sociale du même objet représentationnel qu’est la déficience visuelle. Une différence relative certainement aux vécus subjectifs de chacun des deux sexes.
