|a يعد اللون في الصورة هو أول ما يستجلب الانتباه، ويعطي الانطباع السريع عنها، واللون يحمل معاني وأفكار ومشاعر يستطيع الفنان أن يعبر عنها من خلاله. يدرس هذا البحث المعالجة اللونية للصورة والفنون التشكيلية التي أبدعتها المدرسة العربية في التصوير التي تبلورت في بغداد عاصمة الخلافة العباسية في القرن 6 ه/ 12م. وكان سيد هذه المدرسة الأول هو الفنان يحيى بن محمود الواسطي. وبما أن المنمنمات- فن توشيح النصوص بوساطة التصاوير- هي مجال التصوير الأول الذي وجد فيه الفنان المسلم فرصته للتعبير عن فنه ضمن ما يعرف بفنون الكتاب؛ فقد أهتمت هذه الدراسة بالبحث في معاني ومدلولات الألوان التي استعملها الفنان المسلم في تلك المدرسة، ودور التقاليد المحلية والدينية في التأثير على فنه وألوانه، مع ذكر أهم الأمثلة على ذلك الإبداع.

|b Color in the picture is the first to attract attention, it gives a quick impression about the picture. The color carries the meanings, ideas and feelings that the artist can express through it. This research study the color treatment of the image and the plastic arts created by the Arab school in drawing, which established in Baghdad - the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate - in the 6th century AH / 12 AD. The master of this school was the artist Yahya bin Mahmoud Al Wasiti. Since this is the first field of miniature and photography in which the Muslim artist found his opportunity to express his art in what is known as the arts of the book, this study is interesting about the meanings and the symbols of colors used by the Muslim artist in that school, and the role of local and religious traditions in influencing the art and colors, with mentioning The most notable examples of this innovation.
