المستخلص: Handcrafts are considered as very important among the industries in Algeria, mainly in Bechar’s area. They do not only contribute in Tourism prosperity but they are so demanded by the tourists during the whole year. Among the most useful ones pottery. Since the need to pottery appears to suit it within the needs of primitive people, and as a result of the development, pottery craft developed through the use of clay which depends on the decoration of animals, plants and geometric shapes too. In Bechar craftsman are still preserving this patrimony from machine’s innovation, with all the advantages that this last offer, they prefer working by their hands, the choice of colors is suitable to the area and to the Sahrawian preferences, so that we find the red, the y'ellow clear and dark brown. We are trying throughout this study to make people aware of this very important handcraft that will disappear if we did not play a crucial role to preserve it.
