|b The employment rate provides a good indication of a country's potential for labor at a given point in time. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) publishes estimates of this rate by sex, level of education, etc. Note that in the publications of this institution the local dimension (wilayas, communes) is absent despite its importance and scope, our try is to produce locale estimates of the employment rate using small area estimation methods. In terms of conclusion, it was possible to produce estimates of the employment rate by wilayas; statistically, the quality of the estimators is acceptable, even good especially for the composite estimator and the estimator applied to the Fay and Herriot model.

|d Le taux d’emploi permet de donner une bonne indication du potentiel d’un pays en main-d’oeuvre à un moment donné. L’Office National des Statistiques (ONS) publie des estimations de ce taux par sexe, par niveau d’instruction, etc. A remarquer que dans les publications de cette institution la dimension locale (wilayas, communes) est absente malgré son importance et sa portée, notre essai consiste à produire des estimations localisées du taux d’emploi à l’aide des méthodes d’estimation sur petits domaines. En termes de conclusion, il était possible de produire des estimations du taux d’emploi par wilayas; statistiquement, la qualité des estimations produites est acceptable, voire bonne surtout pour l’estimateur composite et l’estimateur appliqué au modèle de Fay et Herriot.
