المستخلص: يعد الشيخ مبارك الميلي من بين المؤرخين الجزائريين الذين أساهموا في كتابة وتدوين تاريخ الجزائر في الفترة الحديثة والمعاصرة، فقد كان له وجود ضمن كوكبة المؤرخين الذين تخصصوا في هذا النوع من الكتابة من أمثال توفيق المدني وعبد الرحمن الجيلالي، وبهذا يعد من رواد المدرسة التاريخية الجزائرية، إذ يعد كتابة تاريخ الجزائر في القديم والحديث أول كتاب يؤلف كرد فعل على ما كتبه مؤرخي المدرسة التاريخية الكولونيالية مع نهاية العشرينات من القرن الماضي، ويكون بذلك قد أرسى أسس المدرسة التاريخية الجزائرية. في هذه الدراسة سوف نتطرق إلى الشيخ مبارك الميلي "المؤرخ"، الذي تصدى للمدرسة الفرنسية الكولونيالية التي شككت في تاريخ الجزائر وقامت بتزويره، ولا نتكلم عن الميلي المصلح الذي تصدى للكثير من البدع والخرافات التي عرفتها الجزائر وقت ذاك، وهذا من خلال عرض لحياته التي تميزت بأنها كلها كفاح في سبيل بعث وتحصين مقومات الشخصية الجزائرية ومنهجه في كتابة التاريخ والصعوبات التي واجهته في ذلك.

Sheikh Mebarek El Mili, a presentation on his life and his method of writing history. Sheikh Mebarek El Mili is one of the best-known Algerian historians who have largely contributed to the writing of Algerian history through ancient and modern eras. He was among the elite of historians who specialized in this kind of writing such as: Ahmed Taoufik El Madani and Abderrahman El Djillani. Moreover, he is considered to be the leader of the Modern Algerian School of History thanks to these contributions, in particular his work: "History of Algeria in ancient and modern times", the first volume of which appeared in 1928, the latter having the foundations of the Modern Algerian History School were well established towards the end of the 19th century; it is considered to be the first work which answered what the historians of the Colonial School wrote. In this modest study, we will focus on Cheikh Mebarek El Mili, the "historian" who confronted the French colonial school, the one which questioned and falsified Algerian history. It should be noted that Mebarek El Mili "the reformer man" fought the heresies and superstitions which were very widespread at that time. As a result, our presentation revolves around the life of resistance he led to strengthen the essential constituents of the Algerian personality. Thus, we will highlight his method used in writing history and the obstacles he faced.
