المستخلص: This paper deals with the study of AssiaDjebar’s Women of Algiers in their Apartment (Les Femmes d’Alger dans leur Appartement) as a collection of stories with a dialogical relationship with painting, namely the works of Picasso and Delacroix. Within a universal anchorage, this construction can be seen as a narrative journey relating the history of Algerian women. The aim of this work is to reveal the modalities of the passage from painting to writing through the use of the pictorial code. The latter is used as a mediator that enriches the literary aesthetics. We will attempt to analyze the connection that Djebar establishes between the Women of Algiers in art and the characters in her fiction..

Notre propos dans ce travail est de considérer les Femmes d’Alger dans leur appartement d’Assia Djebar en tant que recueil de nouvelles caractérisé par un rapport dialogique avec la peinture du moment et qu’emprunte son intitulé à deux tableaux de Delacroix et de Picasso, ancré dans ces toiles universelles. Cette édification se donne à voir comme un parcours narratif relatant l’histoire des femmes algériennes. L’objectif de ce travail est de dévoiler les modalités du passage de la peinture à l’écriture, tout en utilisant le code pictural comme un médiateur qui enrichit l’esthétique littéraire.
