520 |b  As an essayist, Gaël Faye is a young Franco-Rwandan novelist who immerses us in the events of his first novel Small Country in 2016 during the civil war between Hutus and Tutsis in 1993. He also shows us through his hero his attachment to Burundi, his small country. He saw the memory of his sweet childhood before this war. According to his point of view Gabriel, the main character tells emotionally his concern for his country from the beginning of the civil war and the Rwandan genocide. He expresses the disarray of this war on his identity and that of his community. He is keenly aware of the tragic state of the human condition. Through his attachment to his small country and his childhood, is manifested in him, the nostalgia of his country, fabulous and pure. It is an autobiographical novel in which the young novelist is really inspired by his life lived and personal experience, the main story he has transposed in his novel as that of his mother, his father and his grandparents. It's a quest for his lost childhood. He intertwines the various family events that evoke in him, the memory of his childhood and his ambition to live in his small country and his thirst for happiness, rest, and freedom. Everything was transmitted during his fabulous novel. So, Small Country presents the dream of a small emigrant to find peace in his country through his imagination. Faced with this war that has disrupted his childhood and childhood memories. His childhood is traumatized by the dirty hands of politicians and their political conflict in the dark Continent. 
520 |d  En tant qu’essayiste, Gaël Faye est un jeune romancier franco-rwandais qui nous plonge dans les événements de son premier roman Petit Pays en 2016 au cours de la guerre civile entre les Hutus et les Tutsis en 1993. Il nous montre également à travers son héros son attachement au Burundi, son petit pays. Il revit le souvenir de son enfance douce avant cette guerre. D’après son point de vue Gabriel, le personnage principal raconte émotionnellement son inquiétude envers son pays dès le début de la guerre civile et du génocide rwandais. Il exprime le désarroi de cette guerre sur son identité et sur celle de sa communauté. Il ressent avec acuité le tragique de la condition humaine. À travers son attachement à son petit pays et à son enfance, se manifeste chez lui, la nostalgie de son pays, fabuleux et pur. C’est un roman autobiographique dans lequel le jeune romancier s’inspire réellement de sa vie vécue et de son expérience personnelle l’histoire principale qu’il a transposée dans son roman comme celle de sa mère, son père et ses grands parents. C’est une quête de son enfance perdue. Il y entremêle les différents événements familiaux qui évoquent chez lui, le souvenir de son enfance et son ambition de vivre dans son petit pays et sa soif de trouver le bonheur, le repos, et la liberté. Tout était transmis au cours de son fabuleux roman. Ainsi, Petit Pays nous présente le rêve d’un petit émigré afin de trouver la paix à son pays à travers son imagination. Face à cette guerre qui a perturbé son enfance et ses souvenirs enfantins. Son enfance est traumatisée par les mains sales des politiciens et leur conflit politique dans le continent noir.
