520 |b Vergil was interested in animal kingdom in "Georgics", from the perspective of moral trends which related to the treatment of animals in ancient Rome, and the characteristics of living behavior. Therefore, most critics praised Georgics, as a serious and pleasant poem. Vergil also treated the animal world and its feeling towards the world in which lives, and the relationship of this feeling to the various senses that connect it to the external world, such as hearing, smell, sight, and others. In this poem, Vergil referred to the use of agriculture, and the care of horses, cattle, and the illumination of the senses of these animals. Although there is no talking animal that speaks like humans, but there are several means of understanding between animals of the same species, including making sounds when birds have to be a harbinger of the existence of some dangers. The values of life between human and animal behavior are very similar, and our research will treat with the following main points: 1- The influence of the environment on animal behavior and care. 2- Sexual impulse and mating. 3- Smell and sight senses. 4- Speech and hearing senses. 5- Animals and human traits. Vergil’s presentation in “Georgics”, focused on animal behavior, in particular the criteria, bases of dealing and characteristics between human behavior and animal behavior, which are very similar. But the question remains what is the reason for human hostility to the animal world despite the similarity of traits and behaviors. Therefore, Vergil was keen in “Georgics” about the necessity of human care for animals, coexisting with them with compassion, and offering assistance for them as much as possible.
