المستخلص: عني علماء العربية بصوغ أبنيات هذه اللغة في دقة متناهية، وتبصر عميق في العلاقة المتناغمة بين لبنات هذه الأبنيات، وإدراك تام للسمات الخاصة بكل منها. وكما كان لمعنى الكلمة والجملة شرفه وقدره عندهم على المستوى النحوي والتركيبي، كان لمعنى الحرف أيضا شرفه وقدره عندهم على المستوى الصرفي والبنيوي، وكان له أثره في صوغ بناء الكلمة، ورسم حدود العلاقة بين حروفها؛ فحاز الحرف الزائد لمعنى المقام الأسمى، وكانت له الغلبة على الحرف الزائد لغير معنى، بل وعلى الحرف الأصلي أحيانا؛ ولهذا صانوه، وحرسوه، وجنبوه عوارض التغيير من الحذف، والإدغام، والإبدال، وغير ذلك، وحذفوا لأجله غيره من الحروفي الزوائد لغير معنى، بل والأصول أحيانا. وقد قمت بجمع عناصر البحث ومسائله من بطون أمات كتب النحو والصرف، ثم عنونتها، ورتبتها، وتناولتها بالتحليل والدراسة، ومناقشة آراء الصرفيين ومذاهبهم، منتخبا في ذلك المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. ووسمت هذا البحث بــــ:(صون المعنى وأثره في صوغ المبنى، دراسة صرفية تحليلية)، وجاء في مقدمة، وتمهيد، وثمانية مباحث، وخاتمة اشتملت على أهم النتائج والتوصيات، تلاها ثبت بالمصادر والمراجع.

Arab scholars were concerned with drafting the constructs of Arabic with extreme precision, deep insight into the harmonious relationship between the particles (letters) of these constructs, and a full awareness of the characteristics of each particle. Just as the meaning of the word and the sentence had its honor and assessment to them at the syntactic and morphological levels the meaning of the letter also had its honor and assessment to them at the grammatical and structural levels, and it had its effect on formulating the construction of the word and delineating the boundaries of the relationship between its particles. So that, the extra meaningful particle, possessed the higher standing, and it prevailed over the extra particle with no meaning, sometimes even over the original particle. That is why they preserved, guarded and prevented it from the symptoms of change such as; deletion, assimilation, substitution, and others. And, for its sake they deleted other extra particles of no meaning, and sometimes even the originals. I gathered the elements of the research and its issues from the main essential books of grammar and morphology, then titled, arranged and dealt with them with analysis and study, as well as discussing the opinions and doctrines of the scholars, via the descriptive and analytical approach. I labeled this research as: (Preservation of meaning and its effect on the formulation of the structure: an analytical morphological study), and it includes an introduction, preface, eight chapters, and a conclusion that included the most important findings and recommendations, followed by proven sources and references.
