المستخلص: Sayings have always been a means of transmitting popular wisdom thanks to their simple language, their colloquial use, their translational meaning that is both transparent and opaque, their phonic peculiarities, and their linguistic structures. In this work we try to make an approach to phraseology and particularly paremiology through some of the short sentences known by sayings. First, we inquire into the concept of phraseology and cite its most salient types as paremias. Second, we shed light on the role that the saying plays as a pluriverbal unit in the classroom of Spanish as a foreign language to try to demonstrate how the paremiological vocabulary can be expanded using Don Quixote de la Mancha as a theoretical model to meet that end. Finally, offer didactic proposals that aim to facilitate the understanding of a series of idiomatic expressions that can be used in any conversation in the daily life of speakers to develop their communicative competence and bring them closer to Spanish culture.

Los refranes han sido siempre un medio para transmitir la sabiduría popular gracias a su lenguaje sencillo, su uso coloquial, su significado traslaticio a la vez trasparente como opaco, sus peculiaridades fónicas, y sus estructuras lingüísticas. En este trabajo intentamos realizar una aproximación a la fraseología y peculiarmente a la paremiología a través de unas de las sentencias breves conocidas por los refranes. Primero, indagamos en el concepto de fraseología y citamos sus tipos más sobresalientes como las paremias. Segundo, arrojamos la luz sobre la función que desempeña el refrán como unidad pluriverbal en el aula del español como lengua extranjera para intentar demostrar cómo se puede ampliar el vocabulario paremiológico recurriendo al Quijote de la Mancha como un modelo teórico para atender ese fin. Por último, ofrecer propuestas didácticas que pretenden facilitar la comprensión de una serie de expresiones idiomáticas susceptibles de ser usadas en cualquier conversación de la vida diaria de los hablantes para desarrollar su competencia comunicativa y acercarles a la cultura española.
