"جاءت هذه الدراسة بهدف التعرف إلى عادات وأنماط تعرض الشباب الخليجي للصحافة الإلكترونية والكشف عن دوافع الاستخدام للصحف الإلكترونية من وجهة نظرهم، والتعرف إلى أبرز الإشباعات المتحققة من متابعة الشباب الخليجي للصحف الإلكترونية، وتحليل نظرة الشباب إلى دور الصحافة الإلكترونية في تشكيل الوعي القومي، والتعرف إلى أبرز قضايا الوعي القومي العربي التي عالجتها تلك الصحف، كما هدفت إلى الكشف عن الإسهامات الإيجابية التي حققتها الصحف الإلكترونية في معالجة قضايا الوعي القومي، وكذلك معوقات الصحف الإلكترونية في تشكيل الوعي للشباب الخليجي. بجانب كشف أبرز الأولويات التي ينبغي التركيز عليها في المستقبل من وجهة نظر هؤلاء الشباب. ولتحقيق ذلك قام الباحث بتطوير استبيان لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم توزيعه على عينة من (321) مفردة. وقد تمت معالجة البيانات باستخدام الأساليب الإحصائية المعروفة. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن معظم أفراد العينة يستخدمون الصحافة الإلكترونية بشكل دائم ومنذ مدة تتراوح بين عام- خمسة أعوام، كما بينت الدراسة أن معظم أفراد العينة وبنسبة (69.8%) يقدمون معلومات صحيحة خلال تفاعلهم مع الصحف الإلكترونية. وكشفت الدراسة أن القضايا الاجتماعية احتلت المرتبة الأولى في الموضوعات التي يفضل الشباب الخليجي متابعتها على الصحف الإلكترونية، تلتها الموضوعات السياسية، ثم الموضوعات الرياضية، والأمور الاقتصادية، وأخيرا الموسيقى والأفلام. كما كشفت نتائج الدراسة أن الصحف الإلكترونية تساهم بدرجة متوسطة في حرية الرأي والتعبير، وأنها تساعد على تعميق الشعور بالوعي القومي بدرجة متوسطة أيضا. وأظهرت النتائج أن الصحف الإلكترونية نجحت في تغطية تعثر عملية السلام في الشرق الأوسط بدرجة متوسطة، كما وفرت التغطية المناسبة لقضايا الحريات العامة وحقوق الإنسان في العالم العربي، وأنها نجحت في الحد من ظاهرة العنف والتطرف والاحتقان المذهبي والطائفي في العالم العربي من خلال تغطيتها المستمرة لهذا الموضوع، وساعدت في تنمية الشعور بالوعي القومي العربي للشباب الخليجي بدرجة متوسطة."
"The electronic press has its significant effect on the Gulf region. In this study we are going to discuss several aspects for the use of this technology from young people's point of views. Apparently, forming the national awareness of these people was one of these major aspects. Due to that point; it will lead us to present the pros and cons of such idea as it will eases for us to differentiate between the positive contributions and the obstacles of such awareness. It will also shed the light on the priorities of three important perspectives that should be emphasized in the future by these young citizens; such as: the Gulf state, the regional level and the international level. In order to achieve the objectives of such study, the researcher has distributed a questionnaire sample on 321 people to figure out how people deal with electronic press. Obviously, over a period of 5 years; 69.8% of the respondents have provided correct information during their interaction with electronic press. Accordingly to the previous study; the main interest of young people of the Gulf in electronic press is social issues followed by political topics, sports, economic issues and finally music and movies. It also provides them with a moderate degree of freedom of opinion and expression which deepens the sense of their national awareness. Along with its effect on the Arab national awareness it tackled also the public freedoms and human rights in the Arab world, as it helped in reducing the phenomenon of violence, extremism and sectarian tensions there. Looking at all of the positive subjects we cannot deny the negative effect on the Arab's stability and security of their national consciousness. To wrap up all of the above, the highest priority to focus on from what we mentioned above is the maintenance of security, stability and also achieving Arab unity."
