المستخلص: The purpose of this paper is to analyze and assess the monetary policy instruments in Algeria and their effectiveness in achieving the objectives of the economic policy during the period 1990- 2017. Two parts of this study were dealt with. The first part was to discuss the direction of the development of monetary policy in Algeria, As for the second part, it is an analytical and descriptive study in which we analyzed the tools of monetary policy in Algeria, which in turn may lead to the achievement of the objectives of macroeconomic policy, considering that monetary policy is one of the axes of economic reforms, We have concluded that the effectiveness of monetary policy in Algeria depends on comprehensive reforms affecting all aspects of the economy. On the real side, it is not as important to the size of the output as it is to diversify this output as a goal Basic.
