المستخلص: The research is trying to stand on the provisions of the civil protection, which came out of the Iraqi environmental legislation of pollution, environmental damage and the extent of the adequacy of these provisions to protect the Iraqi environment, especially in light of the serious events that surround the environment, and whether the legislator reached the international level in terms of: the environment definition, determining the scope of protection and then the technical means by which processed Iraqi legislation to ensure that no damage to the environment. In addition, the researcher estimates the provisions of this protection compared to the international level and the statement of vulnerabilities included in the environmental legislation and whether it is sufficient to achieve the purpose for which enacted for it the environmental legislation. Therefore, the legislator is obliged to amend the legislation in line with the objectives sought to be achieved by the legislation.
