تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع استخدام المكتبة الرقمية السعودية بجامعة الملك عبد العزيز بجدة، من خلال التعريف بالمكتبة الرقمية السعودية، والتعرف على دورها في تنمية المهارات البحثية، كذلك التعرف على درجة رضا المستفيدات عن خدماتها، بالإضافة إلى الكشف عن الصعوبات التي تواجه المستفيدات عند استخدام المكتبة الرقمية السعودية ووضع حلول مقترحة تساهم في زيادة تفعيل استخدامها. اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي المسحي، كما استخدمت الباحثة أداتي الاستبيان والمقابلة الشخصية لجمع البيانات البحثية، وقد تكونت عينة الدراسة من 181 طالبة، تم اختيارها عن طريق العينة الطبقية العشوائية، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج من أهمها: أنه لدى المكتبة الرقمية السعودية كمركز معلوماتي العديد من الإدارات: إدارة المحتوى الرقمي، إدارة التدريب والوعي المعلوماتي، قسم الدراسات والإحصاءات، قسم تقنية المعلومات، قسم إدارة العلاقات العامة والإعلام، كذلك تحرص المكتبة على تنمية المهارات البحثية لدى مستفيديها، من خلال عدة أدوات توفرها على الموقع، كخدمة التدريب والتي تشمل دورات تدريبية في استخدام قواعد المعلومات، ودورات تدريبية في تنمية مهارات البحث العلمي، بالإضافة إلى أن قناة المكتبة على you tube تعتبر أرشيفا للدورات التدريبية المقامة على الموقع، وأشارت الدراسة إلى أنه بلغ استخدام المكتبة الرقمية السعودية من قبل مفردات عينة الدراسة بنسبة (77.35%)، وأما عن درجة الرضا عن جودة وكفاء المكتبة الرقمية السعودية في تلبية الاحتياجات العلمية كانت مرضية بالنسبة لـ (60.71%) من العينة، مما يظهر مستوى مرتفعا من الرضا، وتمثلت أبرز المعوقات التي واجهت المستفيدات كانت نقص المعرفة الشخصية بإمكانات قواعد المعلومات بنسبة (28.57%)، ومن ثم عدم وجود تغطية كافية لكل مصادر المعلومات وذلك بنسبة (25.71%)، كذلك قلة مصـادر المعلومات الإلكترونية المتاحة في المكتبة باللغة العربية بنسبة (22.86%)، وبناء على ما توصلت له الدراسة من نتائج توصي الباحثة بضرورة الاشتراك في قاعدة معلومات الجمعية الكيميائية الأمريكية (American Chemical Society)، كذلك ضرورة أخذ الإحصائيات بصورة مستمرة عن مدى استخدام قواعد المعلومات، لوقف القواعد غير المستخدمة إطلاقا وتوفير قواعد معلومات جديدة تغطى النقص في بعض التخصصات.
This study aims to identify the reality of using Saudi Digital Library at King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, through the introduction of Saudi Digital Library, and identify its role in developing research skills. The study also aims to identify the degree of satisfaction among beneficiaries with regards to the Library's services, identify the obstacles beneficiaries are facing when using Saudi Digital Library, and offer proposed solutions that contribute to further promotion of its use. The study relied on the survey descriptive approach. The researcher used two instruments for collecting research data, questionnaires and personal interviews. The study sample consisted of (181) female students, which were selected through random stratified sampling. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are the following: as an information center, Saudi Digital Library contains several departments, which are the following: Digital Content Department, Training and Information Awareness Department, Department of Studies and Statistics, Information Technology Department, Department of Public Relations and Media. The Library is also keen to develop its users' research skills through several tools made available on the website, such as the training service, which includes training courses on the use of databases and training courses on the development of scientific research skills, in addition to that the Library's channel on YouTube is considered an archive of training courses provided on the website. The study also indicated that the use of Saudi Digital Library by study respondents reached a percentage of (77.35%). As for satisfaction on Saudi Digital Library's quality and efficacy in meeting scientific needs, it was considered satisfactory, with a percentage of (60.71%) among study respondents, which shows a high level of satisfaction. The main obstacles facing beneficiaries were the lack of personal knowledge on databases' capabilities, with a percentage of (28.57%), followed by the lack of adequate coverage of all sources of information, with a percentage of (25.71%), as well as the lack of Arabic electronic resources available in the library, with a percentage of (22.86%). Based on study findings, the researcher recommends the need for subscription in the American Chemical Society's database, as well as the need for constant gathering of statistics on the extent to which databases are used, for the purpose of suspending completely unused and neglected databases and providing new databases that cover shortages in certain disciplines.
