إن العامل هو أساس المجتمع وهو وسيلة لتحقق الازدهار والعمران وتحسين الاقتصاد في البلدان، فلما كان له هذا التأثير الإيجابي في المجتمع أولى له الاهتمام من قبل الشرائع السماوية على العموم وديننا الحنيف على الخصوص، وذلك من خلال النصوص المتوافرة التي تحث على العمل وتشجع العامل أن يبادر ويسعى ويتقن ما يقدمه من عمل، وهذا مثل قوله تعالى (وقُلِ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ ورَسُولُهُ والْمُؤْمِنُونَ) وقوله جل وعز (فَإذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَانتَشِرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ) وقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم (اللهم بارك لامتي في بكورها)، وغيرها من النصوص الكثيرة. إن الإسلام جعل العمل عبادة وشرف حيث قرن الله عز وجل درجته بدرجة المجاهد في سبيل الله لأن كلا منهما يبذل مجهودا يفيد مجتمعه ويقدم الخير له. ولما كان العمل عبادة فهو أذن مرتبط بمبادئ الإسلام، ولهذا فإن أي عمل لا ينافي قيم الإسلام فهو مشروع، وأي عمل ينافي مبادئه فهو ممنوع. هذا وإن الشريعة الإسلامية لا تريد من العامل العمل فقط وإنما تحثه على الإحسان في عمله من خلال الإتقان والأحكام يقول صلى الله عليه وسلم (إن الله جل وعز يحب إذا عمل أحدكم عملا أن يتقنه)، ولا بد أن يكون العامل له أخلاقيات في عمله من خلال الالتزام على ما أبرمه في العقد مع صاحب العمل وتنفيذ الشروط التي اتفقوا عليها، وأن يحرص على الوقت فلا يكون مضياعا وأن يكون أمينا، يقول المصطفى صلى الله عليه واله وسلم (لا إيمان من لا أمانة له) فالعامل بعمله يجعل أمته قوية ومتماسكة ويسهم في عمارة الأرض التي أمرنا الله تعالى أن نعمرها كما في قوله تعالى (واسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا) أن ما نشاهده اليوم من تقدم الدول وازدهارها هو بسبب الأيدي العاملة الفاعلة، لأنها تسد احتياجاتها بنفسها، ولا تحتاج إلى غيرها، بالإضافة إلى أنها تقضي على الآفات الضارة المجتمعية الخطرة كالسرقة والرشوة والبطالة وغيرها من الأمراض التي تفتك بالمجتمع.
