|a أمدنا العصر المملوكي بمجموعة من الطبول المعدنية التي كانت تعرف باسم النقارات، منها ما هو محفوظ بالمتاحف العالمية أو معروض للبيع في صالات المزادات العالمية، وكلاهما لم يسبق دراسته من قبل، وكان لهذه النقارات أنماط شكلية مختلفة ما بين الشكل المخروطي والشكل النصف بيضاوي، وقد تعددت استخدامات هذه النقارات خلال عصر المماليك بما يتلائم مع حجمها ما بين الاستخدام العسكري والديني وكذلك الاجتماعي، وقد احتوت هذه النقارات على مجموعة من النصوص الكتابية التي تكشف عن الكثير من المعلومات التاريخية المتعلقة بهذه الآلة، ولم تخلو كذلك من العناصر الزخرفية التي تميز بها الفن المملوكي، وتتناول الدراسة الموضوع من خلال محورين، الأول وصفي يتناول النماذج التي تم التوصل إليها حتي الآن، والثاني تحليلي يتعرض لأشكالها والمواد الخام المصنوعة منها وأسلوب الصناعة المستخدم في عملها والعناصر الزخرفية المنقوشة عليها، إضافة إلى المسمى الخاص بها وكذلك المغزى الوظيفي لها في ضوء المصادر التاريخية وتصاوير المخطوطات.

|b The Mamluk period provided us with number metal drums that were known as “Nakarat”. Some of them are preserved in international museums, and others are offered for sale in the global auction halls, both of which have not been studied before, and these drums had a different morphological patterns between the conical shape and the half-oval shape. These drums were used during the Mamluk period with a manner appropriate to their size, like military role, religious and social roles. These drums contained a set of written texts that reveal a lot of historical information related to this instrument, and were not also empty from the decorative elements that distinguish the Mamluk period, The study will deal into tow topics, the first one is descriptive to the examples that we have got until now, and the second is analytical exposed to its forms, materials, the style of industry used in its work, the decorative elements, and the problem of the name as well as its functional significance through historical sources and manuscripts.
