المستخلص: The present study was conducted in Dar El-salam locality in Khartoum State during the period. The present study was conducted in Dar Elsalam locality in Khartoum State during the period 2014 - 2016. The objective of the study was to investigate the factors cause basic schools pupils dropout. The data were collected from 10 schools using purposive sampling method by questionnaires which were designed for three categories, namely, teachers, household heads and pupils where sample size of teachers and household head was 103 respondents for each while of pupils was 2900 respondents. The concept of the effects of family livelihood constrains on children education is increasely debatable in all aspects of development. From literature read for this study and data collected ,it became clear that Family livelihood constrain and particularly poverty had direct effect on boys dropping school and discontinue education. This paper tries to explore the effects of the livelihood from the perspective boys parent – teachers and the drop out students. The findings in this paper were drawn from a research study on school boys dropout in Dar Alslam locality – West Omdurman. Data collected was compiled and analyzed by using descriptive statistics -t test –chi correlation-multiple regression using the statistical package for social science (SPSS). It can be concluded that absence of one of parents, lack of parent awareness about education, low academic level of pupils parents education level, inferiority of school environment and performance, disability of paying school fees, family economic and social status, education services, health care and personal care found the be main reasons of pupils dropout. It recommended that on how to tackle the issue of the effects of the livelihood constrain on school boys dropout. And recommended that social care towards the families by governmental and non- governmental organization as well as providing suitable school environment to attract pupils and teacher should be considered.
