المستخلص: يعد العنف أحد المشكلات الاجتماعية التي عرفت في المجتمع، وله صور وأنواع غير متشابهة ومتعددة وتختلف بين مجتمع وأخر باختلاف عادات كل مجتمع وتقاليده، وكذلك للظروف الاجتماعية والنفسية والسياسية دور في ذلك العنف. وكذلك للثقافة الاجتماعية والتحضر درجة في تحديد شدة العنف ونوعه في المجتمع، وكذلك تختلف النظرة للعنف مع المدة الزمنية فما كان عنفا في زمن معين قد لا يكون كذلك في زمن آخر والعكس صحيح. ولا يقتصر العنف على مجتمع معين، فإننا نجده في المجتمعات في المجتمعات التي تمتاز بمستوى عال من الثقافة والحضرية، وكذلك نجده في مجتمعات ذات مستوى ثقافي متوسط ومتدني، ولاسيما إننا نلمسه بين أوساط الشباب الجامعي الذي من المفروض أن يكون هذا الوسط من الأوساط الثقافية التي يجب إن تتحلى بالأخلاق وطابع سلوكي يمتاز بالنموذج المثالي في المجتمع. لهذا فان أنتشار مظاهر العنف بين الطلبة الجامعيين يعد من الظواهر الاجتماعية التي يجب الاهتمام بها من قبل الباحثين الاجتماعيين والنفسيين على حد سواء، ففي الآونة الأخيرة برزت سلوكيات غريبة داخل الوسط الجامعي أولها هو تظاهر الطالب بأنه ذلك الرجل القوي ذو القوام الجسمي والعضلي المميز، وان ما يمتلكه من قوة عضلات غير موجودة لدى الطلبة الآخرين، وان كانت موجودة لدى بعضهم فإنهم يقومون بالمبارزة أو النزلات والتي ما تلبث أن تتطور إلى مشاجرات وعراك دام، ولابد من البحث في هذه الظاهرة ليس فقط عند الذكور وإنما حتى الإناث ومعرفة أسبابه. والجامعات العراقية كغيرها من الجامعات العربية التي يشهد طلبتها انفتاحا واسعا على العالم الخارجي بسبب تغير الأوضاع السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية في العراق بعد عام ‎٢٠٠٣‏ وتسارع عجلة التقدم وتطور الماكنة المعلوماتية والاستخدام المكثف لشبكة الأنترنت ناهيك عن وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي الأخرى، كل هذه الأسباب وغيرها جعلت من الفرد العراقي ولاسيما الطلبة الجامعيون من أن يتأثروا بالظواهر كافة التي كان أبرزها ظاهرة العنف، إذ شهدت الجامعات العراقية ارتفاعا ملحوظا لهذه الظاهرة ولاسيما في الآونة الأخيرة.

Violence is not limited to a particular society, we found at least societies civilized the same cultural level is limited, as well as visible in the communities that possess a high degree of civilization and urbanization, as well as a high degree of culture, where we found among university students among which are supposed to possess moral character and soft and renounce delinquent behaviors and the use of logical civilized dialogue. This in violence among university students from more social phenomena which drew the attention of social and psychological researchers alike, in the recently emerged strange behavior within university milieus first of which is to demonstrate the student that this strong man with the strength of physical and muscular distinctive, and what is owned by the strength of the muscles do not found at the other students, and that had existed for some people, they are doing duel or flu, which are soon to evolve into fights and bloody a scuffle, and this is not limited to male students only, but also goes beyond that to include females for different reasons. Iraqi and universities, like other Arab universities experiencing its students open wide to the outside world because of the changing political, social and economic situation in Iraq after 2003 and the acceleration of the wheel of progress and development of the machine information and the extensive use of the Internet not to mention other means of social media, All these and other reasons have made the Iraqi individual and especially university students to be affected by all the phenomena that was highlighted by the phenomenon of violence, as Iraqi universities has seen a remarkable rise of this phenomenon which lies in it the behavioral patterns abnormal and delinquent was up to the crime sometimes.
