المستخلص: هذه المسيرة الماتعة مع هذا العلم الكبير من أعلام النحو العربي وتعليلاته في كتابه المحصول في شرح الفصول أخلص إلى أهم النتائج وهي: 1- لم يقتصر ابن إياز في تعليله على تعليل الأحكام النحوية كالوجوب والمنع والجواز، بل أتسع التعليل عنده ليشمل مسائل كالحدود والعوامل وقضاياها ومسائل الخلاف والترجيح وتعليل المصطلحات النحوية وكلام النحاة إذ شكلت هذه المسائل دوافع تدفعه لممارسة الفكر التعليلي. ٢- تنوعت أساليب ابن إياز في الإدلاء بالعلة بين النص الصريح عليها، أو النص الظاهر، أو الإيماء إلى العلة إيماء. ٣- وضح البحث أن ابن إياز من المجوزين لتعليل الحكم بأكثر من علة كما ذهب إليه ابن جني؛ لذلك علل في كثير من مواضع كتابه بأكثر من علة لحكم واحد. ٤- صرح ابن إياز بمصادر تعليلاته بنقلها من مظانها مباشرة، أو بنسبتها إلى العلماء من المتقدمين و المتأخرين على اختلاف مذاهبهم النحوية، وهو مع ذلك قد يهمل نسبة بعض التعليلات اعتمادا على شهرتها بين النحاة. 5- كشف البحث أن أغلب تعليلات النحاة، ومنهم ابن إياز، ترجع في الحقيقة إلى تعليلات النحاة المتقدمين لا سيما سيبويه، فقد علل ابن إياز كثيرا بتعليلات سيبويه إما بشرحها وإما بالتفريع عليها وإما بنقل مضمونها دون تغيير. ٦- تنوعت العلل التي أعتل بها ابن إياز بين علل تعليمية وقياسية وجدلية، وكذلك من حيث البساطة والتركيب؛ إذ أعتل بالعلل البسيطة والمركبة. ٧- الغالب على العلل التي أعتل بها ابن إياز هي العلل التعليمية الأول كعلة الفائدة، وأمن اللبس، والفرق، والاستخفاف، والاستثقال، والاختصار، وغيرها، تليها العلل القياسية كعلة المشابهة التي يقوم عليها قياس الشبه، والعلل التي تتعلق بفكرة الأصل والفرع وبنظرية العامل كعلة الرد إلى الأصل، والانحطاط، والاختصاص، وغيرها، إضافة إلى علل هي من نمط العلل الجدلية الثوالث، وهي أقل حضورا من قسيمتيها، والسبب في ذلك أن غرض ابن إياز من شرحه لكتاب الفصول الخمسون غرض تعليمي. ٨- لم يتعصب ابن إياز لمذهب نحوي على آخر فقد نقل عن الكوفيين والبصريين، إلا أن ميله للبصريين كان أوضح، ومع ذلك ربما نجده يخالف الفريقين ويتفرد بآرائه مما يظهر شخصيته العلمية واضحة جدا في الكتاب، ولم يمنع تأخر عصر ابن إياز ومتابعته للنحاة السابقين من أن ينفرد ببعض التعليلات التي يحسب الباحث أنها من اجتهاداته في التعليل.
