It began to appear during the Crusades, especially after the beginning of weakness in the ranks of the Crusader forces, so they resorted to raiding the Arab coasts, especially in North Africa, and kidnapping and selling the population in Europe. Ibn Jubayr mentioned that in his voyage on 11 Dhu al-Qi'dah / 578 AH, when the ship was docked on the island of Sardinia, when a passenger saw a sale of Muslim prisoners. When the Muslims were expelled from Andalusia in 1492AD, and they were pursued and tortured by the Spanish, this led to a counter reaction by these expelled Muslims as well as their brothers in North Africa, where the resistance movement began to coalesce with the Ottoman tide in the region, and these states began after their annexation to The Ottoman Empire launched raids on the coasts of southern Europe and returned the prisoners. The topic has been divided into five points as follows: First: The conditions of prisoners inside prisons (bathrooms). Second: The work of the prisoners. Third: Positions held by the prisoners. Fourth: Releasing the prisoners. Fifth: Preparing the prisoner.
