يهدف البحث الى تقديم فكر وأدوات الاقتصاد الدائري واقتصاديات التآزر للدمج بين الطاقة المتجددة وموارد النفط والغاز بالتطبيق على العربية المصدرة للنفط، ويركز البحث على الطاقة الشمسية الأكثر وفرة مع توافر الأراضي الصحراوية الغير مستغلة، ويتناول دور التفكير الايكولوجي الصناعي في توفير تكاليف دمج الطاقة المتجددة والطاقة التقليدية، ويقدم البحث مجموعة من الأدوات التي تساعد بشكل كبير في تحول قطاع النفط والغاز من الاقتصاد الخطي الى الاقتصاد الدائري واقتصاديات التآزر، ومن أمثل تلك الأدوات والأفكار التكافل الصناعي والمناطق الصناعية الايكولوجية، وتصميم الفكر المرتبط بتطبيق الاقتصاد الدائري، وربط شبكات الكهرباء والغاز، وإقامة التجمعات الصناعية الايكولوجية العربية القائمة على تكامل ودمج موارد الطاقة والموارد الأخرى للدول العربية، ويستعرض البحث تعظيم الفوائد البيئية والاقتصادية التي تتطلب فهما أكبر للإمكانيات الموجودة على مستوى البلد والقطاع والتكنولوجيا، كما يدعو إلى منظور على نطاق المنظومة، مع مراعاة الترابط بين التكنولوجيات والقطاعات ومن أهم توصيات البحث العمل على إحياء مشروع ديزرتك عربيا وتمويل الدول العربية المصدرة للنفط للمشروع بحيث يقوم على تهجين طاقات النفط والغاز مع الطاقة الشمسية وتصدير الطاقة الكهربائية ووقود الهيدروجين الى مناطق الاستهلاك في أوروبا.
