المستخلص: تتجه الهمة في هذا البحث إلى النظر في مفهوم الجهاد في لحظتين حضاريتين من التاريخ العربي الإسلامي: قديمة وحديثة. وسنعمل، في مقاربة مفهوم الجهاد في اللحظة الأولى، على النظر في ما خضع له من تأويلات لم تسلم دائما من استراتيجيات التوظيف السياسي-الإيديولوجي، وفي ما تم توسله من آليات انتقاء وإقصاء وتمويه لاستبعاد تأويلات أخرى، سواء في سياق الصراع بين المذاهب والفرق الإسلامية، أو في سبيل دعم السلطة السياسية القائمة في مواجهة أعداء الداخل والخارج. وستتوقف مقاربتنا عند العوامل التي أتاحت ذلك التوظيف. ونتجه في اللحظة الثانية إلى تقليب النظر في ملابسات استدعاء بعض الحركات الإسلامية لمفهوم الجهاد في بعده العنيف المسلح في السياق المعاصر. وسنسعى إلى الكشف عن استراتيجيات هذا الاستدعاء كالانتقاء والاختزال وقياس الوقائع والأحداث المعاصرة على وقائع وأحداث قديمة، واستحضار معارك الماضي ومضامينه وفواعله في إطار سرديات حديثة. ولتحقيق هذه المطلب تروم مقاربتنا هذه توضيح الحقيقة البشرية النسبية لجملة التأويلات القديمة لمفهوم الجهاد. وستحرص، من جهة أخرى، على الكشف عن حقيقة السرديات الحديثة، وبيان أساليب التلاعب بالمخيال الإسلامي كالحجب والتحويل والخداع... من أجل تغذية دورات العنف.

This research examines the definition of the concept of Jihad in two civilizational moments in the Arab-Islamic history: an ancient and modern one. In approaching the concept of Jihad at the first moment, we will examine the interpretations it was subjected to in terms of the strategies of the political-ideological employment, and decipher the mechanisms of selection, exclusion and camouflage that were meant to preclude other interpretations, whether in the context of the conflict between Islamist sects and factions, or to back the existing political regime in the face of the enemies of the interior and exterior. Our approach will identify the factors that enabled that employment. At the second moment, we review the circumstances that propelled some Islamist movements to invoke the concept of Jihad in its violent, armed dimension in the contemporary context. We will seek to uncover the strategies of this summoning, such as selection and reduction, measuring contemporary facts and events on old facts and events, and bringing into play the battles of the past and its contents and actors within the framework of modern narratives. To this aim, we clarify the relativism of human ancient interpretations of the concept of Jihad. On the other hand, we aim to reveal the truth of the modern narratives, and to evince the methods of manipulating the Islamic imagination, such as blocking, diversion and deception the objective of which is to feed cycles of violence.
