المستخلص: The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the position of Islam in Spain from a social-religious perspective and there visibilization in the society. Going from a catholic to secularized state, Spain recognizes the religious freedom of its citizens guaranteeing them the right to profess and manifest a no catholic religion. In this context, many legal norms were approved so that this religious freedom is real and effective. Actually, the Muslim community enjoys civil rights and freedoms including the right to practice the Islamic religion individually and collectively, both in private and in the public sphere. For this reason, the visibilization of the Islam and Muslims is much more remarkable now than before, mainly in relation to the construction of mosques and cemeteries, topic of utmost importance in the present time.

El presente artículo tiene el propósito de dilucidar el posicionamiento del Islam en España desde una óptica socio-religiosa así que su visibilización en la sociedad. Pasando de un estado católico a un estado secularizado, España reconoce la libertad religiosa a sus ciudadanos garantizándoles el derecho a profesar y manifestar una religión a-católica. En este contexto, se aprobó muchas normas en materia jurídica para que esta libertad sea real y efectiva. Actualmente, la comunidad musulmana en España goza de derechos civiles y libertades entre los cuales el derecho a practicar la religión islámica individual y colectivamente, tanto en privado como en esfera pública. Por ello, la visibilización social del Islam y de los musulmanes es mucho más notable ahora que antes principalmente en lo que toca a la construcción de mezquitas y cementerios, tema de suma importancia en el tiempo presente.
