أسهم رواد سودانيون كثر في ترسيخ وإثراء ونشر علم الآثار السوداني وسوف تتناول هذه الورقة نموذجا بارزا منهم يتمثل في دور البروفيسور علي عثمان محمد صالح -جامعة الخرطوم -كلية الآداب -قسم الآثار. وتركز الورقة على دور النموذج المختار في تدعيم الجوانب المذكورة أعلاه لعلم الآثار وذلك من خلال استعراض أهم ملامح المنتج الفكري والمساهمات الأكاديمية في مجال علم الآثار وتمثلها أوراقه عن نتائج أبحاثه الآثارية أو تلك التي ناقشت قضايا الثقافة السودانية عامة وثقافة منطقة النوبة خاصة والسياسات الثقافية للسودان واستراتيجياتها وكذلك في العديد من الأوراق التي ألفها منفردا أو/ ومشاركا آخرين في مختلف مجالات علم الآثار، وكذلك أسس لعدد من المشروعات البحثية الناجحة أثمرت نتائج علمية كان لها إسهام مباشر في تحديث المعرفة عن الآثار السودانية ودربت أعداد كبيرة من طلاب الآثار بمختلف الدرجات العلمية مثل مشروع مروى الكبرى، مشروع المسح الآثاري والتراثي واللغوي والبيئي لمنطقة المحس، والمشروع المشترك لأبحاث آثار منطقة الشلال الخامس (انجب). هذه المشروعات ساهمت في رفد علم الآثار السوداني بمعلومات جيدة سيتم تفصيلها في هذه الورقة بجانب مشاركات بروفيسور علي عثمان في المؤتمرات والسمنارات واللجان والورش المختلفة ذات الصلة وقد أرسى دعائم علم الآثار الوطني السوداني منهجيا وعلميا وعمليا وسوف يتم تفصيله في ثنايا الورقة. إن رواد علم الآثار السودانيين قد قدموا الكثير ويستحقون أن نرصد في أوراق متتابعة جميع أعمالهم ومساهماتهم العلمية.
Many Sudanese pioneers contributed to the consolidation, enrichment and dissemination of Sudanese archeology, and this paper will address a prominent example of them represented in the role of Professor Ali Osman Muhammad Salih - University of Khartoum - faculty of Arts - Department of Archeology. The paper focuses on the role of the chosen model in strengthening the above-mentioned aspects of archeology by reviewing the most important features of the intellectual product and academic contributions in the field of archeology It is represented by papers that discussed issues of Sudanese culture in general, the culture of the Nuba region in particular, and the cultural policies and strategies of Sudan, as well as in many papers that he authored individually or as a participant in various fields of archeology, as well as the foundations for a number of successful research projects that yielded scientific results that had a direct contribution to the modernization of knowledge. On the Sudanese archeology and trained large numbers of archeology students of various degrees, such as the Great Meroe Project, the Archaeological, Heritage, Linguistic and Environmental Survey Project for the Al-Mahas region, and the joint project for archeology research in the Fifth Cataract region (ANJP). These projects contributed to providing Sudanese archeology with good information that will be detailed in this paper, in addition to its participation in conferences, seminars, committees, and various relevant workshops. The pioneers of Sudanese archeology have made a lot and deserve to monitor in successive papers all their scientific works and contributions.
