المستخلص: Algeria is traditionally a country of emigration. This involves inward migrant remittances. Those remittances were always linked to the parallel foreign exchange market because they constitute the main source of supply within it. The aim of our paper is to analyses the evolution of the total amount and the nature of the Algerian migrants’ remittances as well as their relationship with the parallel foreign exchange market. We conclude that the organization of the transactions in the parallel foreign exchange market and that of migrant remittances were always adapted to each other.

L’Algérie est traditionnellement un pays d’émigration. Cela implique un afflux de transferts de fonds des migrants. Ces transferts se sont toujours liés à un marché parallèle actif des changes car ils y constituent la source principale de l’offre des devises. L’objectif de notre article est d’analyser l’évolution de la masse et de la nature des transferts des migrants algériens ainsi que leur relation avec le marché parallèle des changes. On a montré que l’organisation des transactions sur le marché parallèle des changes et celle des transferts des migrants algériens se sont toujours adaptées l’une à l’autre.
