Effect of 2RM and 4RM in the Concentration Level of Hormones (Cortisol, Testosterone and GH) in Basketball Young Players

المستخلص: Testosterone, cortisol and growth hormones (GH) response to strength training. This study investigated the effect of high strength exercises with 2RM &4RM on those hormones, twenty youth basketball players represented study subject chosen randomly and divided into two groups (Max.2RM & max.4RM) (n=10) each group. Blood samples had taken after performed max. 2RM(90-100%) and max.4RM repetitions. There were no significant differences before training in testosterone, cortisol and GH. Concentrations between groups, put after the effort all hormones area were significantly higher in Max.2RM group (cortisol 236 +- 12.649 ng/ml), (testosterone 12.7 +- 0.2 ng/ml), (GH 2.02 +- 1.05 ng/ml). Meanwhile in Max.4RM group (cortisol 249 +- 14.491),(testosterone 13.6 +- 0.5), (GH 2.7 +- 0.3) in post tests. The max.2RM Group resulted a greater response than max.4RM Group.
