المستخلص: Literary translation is a field that has been written about extensively as shown by the two elements of the compound, namely translation and literature, which have long coexisted despite linguistic and philosophical controversies. Therefore, we have chosen to highlight the relationship between these two disciplines with regard to linguistic theory. Nowadays, the adoption of an approach forces researchers in these respective fields to question the limits and perspectives, especially that translation is an interdisciplinary field where the demand for a single linguistic approach seems to be insufficient, given that both branches of external and internal linguistics revolve around the life of signs in its synchronic and diachronic dimensions. It is also curious in nature that each language has its own linguistic and cultural system, which makes translation go beyond the morphological study of the utterance, claiming to facilitate the understanding of the psycholinguistic dimension of both the writer and the translator. Today, however, many arguments are puts forward to defend the works of several self-taught translators of literature who have never studied linguistics or literature in order to translate these texts. As translation researchers, we believe that it is important to know the theoretical trends of linguistics and literature in order to establish a circumspect translation practice. We all know that the know-how is very important for the success of any scientific endeavour, which is why the number of literary translations and the academic works related to them are still limited, especially that the increasing number of requests to submit them to criticism and evaluation has been tackling them from a linguistic point a view, as opposed to the past, when none of this was discussed in academic spheres. Therefore, in this article we would like to tackle the limits and perspectives of literary translation supported by linguistic trends.

La traduction littéraire représente un domaine qui a fait couler beaucoup d’encre, vu que les deux vocables composant cette collocation, à savoir la traduction et la littérature sont des champs cohabitant depuis longtemps, malgré les querelles linguistiques et philosophiques, c’est la raison pour laquelle nous avons opté pour mettre en évidence le rapport qu’entretiennent ces deux disciplines à l’égard de la théorie linguistique. De nos jours, l’adoption d’une approche oblige les chercheurs en ces domaines respectifs à s’interroger sur les limites et les perspectives, surtout que la traduction est un domaine interdisciplinaire où la sollicitation d’une seule approche linguistique semble être dérisoire, étant donné que les deux branches de la linguistique externe et interne s’articulent autour de la vie des signes dans leurs dimensions synchroniques et diachroniques. Il est aussi de nature curieuse que chaque langue jouisse de son propre système linguistique et culturel faisant que la traduction dépasse le cadre de l’étude morphologique de l’énoncé facilitant la compréhension de la dimension psycholinguistique aussi bien de l’écrivain que du traducteur. Or, nous entendons aujourd’hui plusieurs voix qui s’élèvent pour défendre le travail autodidacte de plusieurs traducteurs de la littérature n’ayant jamais fait d’études linguistiques ou littéraires pour traduire ces textes. En revanche, et depuis notre mission de chercheur en traduction, nous estimons qu’il est important de connaître les courants théoriques de la linguistique et de la littérature, afin d’asseoir une pratique traductionnelle circonspecte. Nous savons tous que le savoir-faire compte beaucoup pour réussir toute entreprise scientifique, c’est pourquoi la traduction littéraire peine toujours à retrouver un socle où la théorie et la pratique s’entrecoupent, surtout après avoir multiplié les demandes de la soumettre à la critique et l’évaluation, en vue de penser la traduction d’un point de vue linguistique. De ce fait, nous tenons dans cet article à traiter les limites et les perspectives d’une traduction littéraire appuyée par les approches linguistiques.
