المستخلص: This study aimed to measure the degree of prevalence of minor identities in Jordanian universities, their impact on the nature of the prevailing social relations, and their cause in the phenomenon of student violence. The current study reviews identity theory and psychosocial theory attempting to explain the prevailing social relations in Jordanian universities. The study population consisted of (136864) male and female students at Jordanian public universities in the academic year (2016-2017) (Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education, 2017). The study sample consisted of (1283) male and female students who were selected according to the method of categorized random sampling from five universities. The results of the study indicated that Jordanian university students ’estimates of the prevalence of minor identities were average. Further, the study revealed the absence of a clear vision and action plans in Jordanian universities to form the national identity among Jordanian university students and to build a positive university community. The results also found that the social environment in universities Jordanian is not up to the desired level of the students' point of view. Moreover, it proposed several recommendations that may form an active and constructive national social interaction and the abolition of negative social phenomena in university environment.
