المستخلص: In June 2017, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt surprisingly announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Qatar. The incident causes diplomatic crisis began with a campaign launched by the Saudi and Emirati media against the State of Qatar. The study aims to identify the Gulf crisis, its causes and effects. It relied on the descriptive approach. The study concludes that The State of Qatar has expanded its political role and weight outside its geographical location through its great influence in the East and West. This has threatened the status of the major countries in the region, especially in light of the political vacuum in the region that arose after the repercussions of the Arab Spring. The study shows that Qatar followed a completely different behavior from the behavior of The Gulf states through a set of flexible alliances and balanced relations with many international and regional powers. From an economic point of view, it was found through the study that the Qatari economy was able to overcome the crisis, as Qatar improved its relations with Iran and Turkey, which became partners of Qatar in facing the political and military blockade.
