لقد أصبح التعامل مع شبكة الإنترنت جزءا لا يتجزأ من الحياة اليومية سواء من أجل العمل أو الدراسة أو حتى لقضاء وقت الفراغ، فلا أحد ينكر ما للإنترنت من مزايا وفوائد عديدة وخدمات لا تعد ولا تحصى إذا استعملت بطريقة صحيحة وعقلانية، وعلى الجانب الآخر ما تحمله شبكة الإنترنت من مساوئ ومخاطر قد تصل إلى حد الإدمان المرضي. ولقد أشارت العديد من الدراسات إلى أهمية استخدام التقنيات الإليكترونية في عملية التواصل الاجتماعي في العصر الحالي، ذلك العصر الذي يمتاز بزيادة الاعتماد على استخدام وسائل تكنولوجيا المعلومات في كافة مناحي الحياة، بل وأكدت هذه الدراسات أن مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي مثلت الركيزة الأساسية في إحداث التغييرات والتحولات المجتمعية. وعليه لم يعد الارتباط بالإنترنت من الكماليات، بل أصبح ضرورة في هذا العصر، حيث تنوعت استخداماته في كافة العلوم والمجالات والتخصصات، وأحدث بذلك جوانب إيجابية حقيقية لا جدال فيها، ولكنه في نفس الوقت ولد آثارا سلبية لا يمكن الالتفات عنها، وخصوصا أنه شبكة مفتوحة ولا سلطان عليها من شخص ولا هيمنة عليها من أي منظمة، مما يسر وسهل لمستخدميها الاطلاع على ما يريدونه دون رقابة. من هذا المنطلق جاءت دراسة الأبعاد الاجتماعية لإدمان الإنترنت وانعكاساتها على قيم الانتماء لدي الشباب، من خلال محاولة التعرف على الأبعاد الاجتماعية لإدمان الإنترنت وانعكاساتها على قيم الانتماء لدي الشباب، والتعرف على دور شبكات الإنترنت في تغيـير عادات وتقاليد الشباب. واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي مع منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة، مستعينة بالاستبيان في جمع البيانات. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن ٣٥ % من الطلاب يستخدمون الإنترنت يوميا، في مقابل ٣١ % يستخدمونه عدة مرات أسبوعيا على فترات متقطعة، بينما بلغت نسبة من يستخدمون الإنترنت مرة واحدة أسبوعيا ٣٤ % من حجم العينة، وأكدت النتائج تزايد معدلات استخدام الإنترنت بين الذكور والإناث على حد سواء، وكلما زاد دخل الأسرة كلما ازداد الاستخدام لشبكة الإنترنت. ومن حيث المصطلحات العلمية فإن دراسة الراهنة تحتوي على أربع مفاهيم رئيسية متمثلة في إدمان الأنترنت، القيم، الانتماء، الشباب.

From this point of view came the study of the social dimensions of Internet addiction and its implications for the values of belonging among young people, by trying to identify the social dimensions of Internet addiction and its reflections on the values of belonging among young people, and to identify the role of Internet networks in changing the habits and traditions of young people. The study relied on the descriptive analytical method with the sample social survey method, using the questionnaire in collecting data. The study found that 35% of students use the Internet daily, compared to 31% who use it several times a week at intermittent intervals, while the percentage of those who use the Internet once a week is 34% of the sample size. The results confirmed the increasing rates of Internet use among males and females alike, and the higher the family's income, the greater the use of the Internet. In terms of scientific terms, the current study contains four main concepts represented in Internet addiction, values, affiliation, and youth.
