إن الشعر العربي الذي تناول حالات الضعف الإنساني الناجمة عن وقوع الإنسان في غيابات السجن موطن تدبر وتفكر، حيث مثل لنا صورة الإنسان لحظة وقوعه أسير جدران سجن يضيق عليه مهما اتسعت أركانه. ويظل الشعر الذي لقب بشعر الحبسيات يجسد تلك الزفرات المكلومة التي أطلقها أصحابها تعبيرا عما يجيش في صدورهم من عوامل نفسية مثلت ما يشبه صرخات استغاثة، وطلب طوق للنجاة مما هم فيه من ألم نفسي وجسدي. ويأتي شعر هدبة بن الخشرم العذري ليمثل لونا فريدا من ألوان شعر الحبسيات، والذي عانى فيه صاحبه مرارة السجن وترقب أن يقتاد منه، الأمر الذي طبع شعر هدبة بلون مائز من ألوان الشعر المحمل بالنقائض، ما بين يأس وأمل، وما بين خوف ورجاء، الصورة التي جعلت من شعره كاشفة ضوء على المنطقة التي يقف فيها الإنسان بين الحياة وبين الموت. ولقد تعددت الدراسات التي تناولت شعر السجون، وكثرت أقوال النقاد فيها، فمنهم من يستعذبها لاستكانة أصحابها، ومنهم من يراها طلب رحمة، ومن من يراها ندما، ومنهم من يراها طلبا للحرية، وغيرها، لكنها تقف رغم تعدد أصحابها لترسم لنا صورة إنسانية لحال أصحابها خلف قضبان السجون، لتمثل رسائل مكلوم يقف على حافة الحياة والموت لا يعلم إلى أي طريق ينتمي. ومن ثم كان سبب اختياري للموضوع هو إلقاء الضوء على تلك التجربة التي مر بها هدبة بن الخشرم، ومدى أثرها في شعره، قوة وضعفا، ومن ثم وضع شعر هدبة بن الخشرم أمام النقد النفسي والتحليلي، وتوضيح الآثار المترتبة على ذلك، ومن ثم جاء البحث ليعالج (أثر السجن والموت في شعر هدبة بن الخشرم) كما جاء في عنوانه.

And here comes the poetry of Hodbah Ibn Elkhashram Alothray to be a unique color of the Alhabsyat poetry, in which he suffered the bitterness of imprisonment and expected to be taken away from it, which imbued his poetry with a wondrous color of poetry bearing contrasts, between despair and hope, and between fear and hope, the image that made his poetry reveals light on the area where man stands between life and death Numerous studies of prison poetry have been conducted; with many reviews by critics .Some of them see it as a request for mercy, others as a request for remorse, others as a request for freedom, and others. However, despite the many authors, it stands to paint a humane picture of their condition behind prison bars, representing grieving letters standing on the verge of life and death, unaware of where he belongs.. The reason I chose the subject was to shed light on the experience of the Hodba Ibn Elkhashram, its impact on his poetry, its strength and weakness, and to put the Hodba Ibn Elkhashram's poetry before psychological and analytical criticism, and explain the effects.
