المستخلص: بنيت شخصية يعقوب العريان في هذا النص بخصوصية لافتة، ولغة مخصوصة، وبنية مختلفة شكلا ومضمونا عن أي شخصية (مريضة) في العادة. في أقصوصة الزهايمر يلامس غازي القصيبي قضية إنسانية حساسة، تتعلق بمرض الزهايمر، ومراحل هجران الذاكرة. في هذا النص يتشكل المريض بمزيج من المفارقات التي تتأرجح بين ثنائيتي: الذاكرة والنسيان، النسيان الذي يعصف بالأشياء الصغيرة وصولا إلى الإدراك، والوعي، ونسيان الذات. والذاكرة التي تحارب المرض بالتدوين وكتابة رسائل ما قبل الرحيل. في هذه الرسائل يهدم القصيبي صورة مريض الزهايمر المعروفة والمألوفة ويعيد بناءها، وفق تشكل جديد للمريض العارف بمرضه، المطلع على أبرز مراحله وإرهاصاته، المريض الذي تسكنه المعرفة أساسا، ويحمل في ذاكرته العديد من الخبرات على شتى المجالات السياسية، والاقتصادية، والحربية، وحتى الدينية. في هذه القصة لا يقدم المريض في حالة عجز مطلق كما هي الصورة النمطية لمرضى الزهايمر، وإنما يتمهل المبدع في تقديم خذلان الذاكرة على مراحل يدركها ويعيها المريض حتى يتوفى بسكتة قلبية جراء معرفته بتدهور حالته. تكتسب شخصية يعقوب العريان خصوصيتها من بنيتها التي تتجاوز حالة المرض، إلى حالة المريض المدرك لماهية المرض، والعارف بتفاصيله. وتكتسب هذه الشخصية كثافتها من أول صفحات الرواية، وتختم بتكثيف أكبر حين يموت العريان ليس من مرض الزهايمر الذي يحاربه، وإنما من وجع قلبه الذي أرهقه القلق. هذا البحث يتتبع بنية الشخصية السردية، ويحللها وفق منهج بنيوي يسبر أعماق البنية، ويحلل مكوناتها.

In this text, the character of Jacob Al-Arian is built with remarkable peculiarity, a specific language, and a structure that is different in form and content than any character (sick) usually. In the Alzheimer's short story, Ghazi Al-Gosaibi deals with a sensitive human issue related to Alzheimer's disease and the stages of memory loss. In this text, the patient is formed by a mixture of paradoxes that swing between: memory and forgetfulness. The forgetfulness that plagues small things right down into cognition, awareness, and self-forgetfulness. Memory fights disease by writing letters before leaving. In these letters, Al-Gosaibi destroys the well-known and familiar image of the Alzheimer's patient and rebuilds it according to a new formation for the patient who is aware of his disease, familiar with its most prominent stages and signs. This patient, who is inhabited mainly by knowledge, retains in his memory many experiences in various political, economic, military, and even religious fields. In this story, the patient is not presented in a state of absolute disability, as is the stereotype of Alzheimer's patients, but the creator slows down in presenting the memory loss in stages that the patient realizes and is aware of until he dies of a heart attack due to his knowledge of the deterioration of his state. Jacob Al-Arian’ character gains its privacy from its structure that transcends the state of illness, to the state of the patient who is aware of what the disease is, and who knows its details. This character gains its intensity from the first pages of the novel. It is concluded with even greater intensity when Al-Arian dies, not from Alzheimer's disease, which he is fighting against, but from the pain of his heart, which is exhausted by anxiety. This research examines the structure of the narrative personality, analyzes it according to a structural approach that probes the depths of the structure, and analyzes its components.
