تناول البحث ضوابط استخدام القوة أثناء التدخل المسلح، تمثلت مشكلة البحث في الإجابة عن بعض الأسئلة وهي ما هي ضوابط استخدام القوة المسلحة في القانون الدولي؟ ما هي ضوابط استخدام القوة المسلحة في فترة النزاعات الدولية؟ وما هو المستند القانوني لاستخدام القوة المسلحة وإشكالية السيادة؟، تكمن أهمية البحث في الوسائل التي يجب أن تتبع في استخدام القوة المسلحة وضوابطها، يهدف البحث إلى أهمية معرفة الضوابط القانونية الدولية في حالة استخدام القوة المسلحة على المستوى الدولي والمحلي وسيادة الدول، اتبع الباحث في بحثه المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لتوضيح المعاني الخاصة بالنصوص والمواد القانونية ذات الصلة، وكذلك استخدام المنهج، ولتحقيق الأهداف المرجوة من البحث تناول أهمية التوصل للمستند القانوني للتدخل المسلح وما هي ضوابطه القانونية، توصل الباحث في بحثه إلى أهم النتائج وهي: لابد من ووجود مسوغ قانوني وعارضها مع السيادة واضح وفقا لنص قانوني في القانون الدولي للتدخل المسلح، وكانت أهم التوصيات: ضرورة التشديد في حالات استخدام القوة المسلحة ومعاقبة الدولة التي تتجاوز حدود استخدام القوة المسلحة وفقا للقانون الدولي الإنساني.
