المستخلص: This paper is intended to be a study for the play, Proof, which is written by the British playwright, David Auburn. The paper puts two important questions. Does the title of the play reflect the theme of the play successfully? Does there any other theme rather than Proof? It aims at answering the being asked questions by following the character-analysis approach as a method of discussion. The paper gives a theoretical background which includes the questions, the aim, the significance, the methodology of the paper, as well as the literature review. An introduction to the life and the work of David Auburn and the play occurs. The analysis of the play is done to mention the themes of the play. The conclusion ends the paper.
