يتناول هذا البحث موضوع الدور المصري في تأييد الثورة اليمنية أمام هجمات الملكيين المستمرة في كثير من مناطق البلاد، كما يتناول الانشقاق داخل صفوف الجمهوريين أنفسهم التي عمقت التناقضات ليس بين الجانب الملكي والجمهوري فحسب بل وبين الجمهوريين أنفسهم، والتي كان سببها استمرار الحرب بين الجمهوريين والقوى المضادة للثورة، وعلى الرغم من ذلك فقد استطاع الجمهوريون الدفاع عن الثورة والجمهورية أمام هجمات الملكيين المستمرة الذين استغلوا انسحاب القوات المصرية من اليمن أثر هزيمة يونيو 1967م، وأخذوا يجددون عزمهم القضاء على الثورة وعلى النظام الجمهوري، غير أن الجمهوريين استطاعوا الصمود أمام الملكيين وصدهم عن تحقيق ما كانوا يطمحون إليه من الاستيلاء على صنعاء، تجلي ذلك في حرب السبعين يوما.
This research okals with the issue of the Egyptian volein supporting the Yemeni revolution in the face of the continuous attacks of the royalists in many regions of the country. It also deals with the schism within the ranks of the republicans themselves, which deepended the contradictions not only between the royalists side and the republic, but also between the republicans themselves, which was caused by the continuation of the civil war and the humiliation of the revolution.
