المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على أثر الشائعات عبر مواقع التواصل تويتر، سناب شات، وأتساب على طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام والاتصال بجامعة الملك خالد تجاه جائحة كورونا، وكذلك التعرف على مدى اعتماد طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام بجامعة الملك خالد على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي تويتر، سناب شات، وأتساب كمصدر للمعلومات عن جائحة كورونا تم اختيار عينة عشوائية من طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام بجامعة الملك خالد واعتمد الباحثون على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي باستخدام استبانة أعدت خصيصا كأداة لجمع البيانات وتم توزيعها بطريقة العينة العشوائية حيث كان حجم العينة (52) من حجم لمجتمع البالغ (69) بنسبة استجابة بلغت (75%) من إجمالي حجم المجتمع. أوضحت نتائج الدراسة بوجود أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية للشائعات عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ضمن حدود الدراسة على طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام بجامعة الملك خالد، كذلك يوجد أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية في درجة اعتماد طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام بجامعة الملك خالد على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في حدود الدراسة كأحد مصادر المعلومات عن فيروس كورونا المستجد، واتضح عدم وجود فروق معنوية دالة إحصائية في جميع متوسطات أبعاد استبانة أثر الشائعات عبر مواقع التواصل تويتر، سناب شات، وأتساب على طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام والاتصال بجامعة الملك خالد تجاه جائحة كورونا. ومن أهم توصيات الدراسة تنبيه طلاب وطالبات قسم الإعلام والاتصال بجامعة الملك خالد بمتابعة الحسابات الموثقة لوزارة الصحة السعودية على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي توتير، سناب شات، وأتساب وأخذ المعلومات الصحية من مصادرها الرسمية.

The study aimed to identify the impact of rumors through the communication sites Twitter, Snap chat, and WhatsApp on the students of the Department of Media and Communication at King Khalid University towards the Corona pandemic, as well as to identify the extent to which the students of the Media Department at King Khalid University depend on the social networking sites Twitter, Snap chat, WhatsApp as a source of information about the Corona pandemic. A random sample of students from the Media Department at King Khalid University was selected. The researchers relied on the analytical descriptive approach using a questionnaire specially prepared as a tool for data collection and distributed in a random sampling method, where the sample size was (52) out of the size of the adult community (69). With a response rate of (75%) of the total community size. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant effect of rumors through social networking sites within the limits of the study on the students of the Media Department at King Khalid University, and there is also a statistically significant effect on the degree of reliance of students of the Media Department at King Khalid University on social networking sites within the limits of the study as one of the sources Information about the new Corona virus, and it was clear that there were no significant statistically significant differences in all average dimensions of the questionnaire of the impact of rumors on the social networking sites Twitter, Snap chat, and WhatsApp on the students of the Media and Communication Department at King Khalid University towards the Corona pandemic. One of the most important recommendations of the study is to alert the students of the Department of Media and Communication at King Khalid University to follow the documented accounts of the Saudi Ministry of Health on the social networking sites Twitter, Snap chat, and WhatsApp and to take health information from its official sources.
