حظيت اللغة باهتمام علماء العربية قديما وحديثا، وقد اتجهت جهودهم اللغوية في ذلك صوب اللغة التي يتداولها الراشدون، ومحاولة إرشادهم إلى سبل استعمالها استعمالا بليغا متجنبين في ذلك الأخطاء النحوية والصرفية والإملائية، لكنهم في الوقت نفسه أهملوا دراسة جانب مهم من اللغة وهو لغة الطفل، وتطور هذه اللغة، وما يصيبها من تغيرات ترافق مراحل نموها حتي يتمكن الطفل من استعمال اللغة استعمالا صحيحا كما يفعل الراشدون، فلم نجد عالما أفرد مؤلفا تناول هذه المسائل، أو قدم لنا تعليلات لغوية للمظاهر التي ترافق نمو اللغة عند الطفل، غير إشارات عابرة في ثنايا كتبهم. بيد أن الحال لم يبق على ما كان عليه سابقا، فبعد التطور الكبير الذي حدث في الدراسات اللغوية في العصر الحديث طرق هذا الباب الكثير من العلماء، لكن الدراسات في هذا الجانب لا تزال قليلة، وهذا ما دفع الباحثة لإجراء عدة بحوث تتناول اللغة عند الطفل، ومن هذه البحوث دراسة تطور الجانب الفونولوجي من اللغة عند الطفل، حتى يقف دارس اللغة على تطور هذا الجانب من اللغة عند الطفل، ومراحل هذا التطور حتى يصل إلى الاستعمال الصحيح للغة.
The language has attracted the attention of the Arab linguist in the past and recently, and their linguistic efforts have focused on spoken language by adults trying to guide them how to use it in an eloquent manner avoiding the grammatical and spelling mistakes; however, they neglect to study an important aspect of language, that is the child language, and the changes that contain its stages of development so that the child can use the language in a correct way as adults do, we did not find a linguist wrote a book that dealt with these issues, or provided us with these linguistic explanations of the manifestations that contain the development of language to the child, put just passing references in their books. However, the situation did not stay the same as before, after the great development that took place in the language studies in modern times, this section got attention of many linguist, but the studies in this aspect are still few, and this led the researchers to conduct several researches on the language of the child, one of these researches in the study of the development of the phonological side of the language to the child, so that the language learner will realize the development aspect of language to the child, and the stages of this development until the child reaches the correct use of language.
