المستخلص: Aim. This study aimed to investigate contribution of emoji on linguistic and communicative function interpretation among college students. Subject and Methodology. Purposeful sampling method was used to recruit the participants. The researcher selected 288 students who completed and returned the questionnaires. For the purpose of this study, quantitative survey research was employed. The independent variable is Emoji, while dependent variables are a linguistic and communicative functions. Results. It was revealed that college students perceive Emoji as to improve communication. Responder Used Emojis achieved good scores while the others got low scores. The relationship between IV(linguistic) and DV(communicative) became insignificant. This also means that Emoji is a mediator between linguistic and linguistic, and this mediation is complete one. Conclusion. In conclusion, the present study provided evidence that emoji to linguistic and communicative function interpretation among college students. The researcher comes to conclude that emojis are important tools for improving linguistic and communicative function interpretation among college students.
