المستخلص: إن النقل الحضري المستدام يهدف إلى تحسين نظام النقل الحالي وتسهيل مراقبة أنشطة النقل، والتأكد على ربط الأنشطة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية بالبيئة الحضرية مع اقتراح النمو المرحلي لمنظومة النقل وتحقيق ترتيب وتنظيم معقول ومناسب لاستعمالات الأراضي الحضرية وصولا إلى تحقيق التنمية الحضرية المستدامة للبلد. إن مشكلة البحث تتلخص في أن العراق يعاني من مشاكل في النقل تتمثل في عدم تماشي النظام مع الزيادة السكانية في المجتمع، ومن عدم كفاءة الطرق الحضرية في المدن، ويفترض البحث أن النقل الحضري المستدام يساهم في الحفاظ على البيئة وتوفير نقل كفوء للمواطنين، ويهدف إلى محاولة الاستفادة من التجارب العالمية في النقل الحضري المستدام ومحاولة تطبيقها في العراق. ويصل البحث إلى جملة من الاستنتاجات أهمها للوصول إلى نقل حضري مستدام يجب الاهتمام بالنقل العام وتفعيله وزيادة عدد الحافلات الجماعية، وأن الاعتماد على وسائل النقل الشخصية أدى إلى قلة الاهتمام بالنقل العام وأدى أيضا إلى عدم الاهتمام بنظافة مركبات النقل العام. وأوصى البحث بسن تشريعات تخطيطية تعتمدها الجهات التخطيطية والتنفيذية لضمان تحقيق الاستدامة في مجال النقل، والاستفادة من خطط النقل المستدام من الدول الأخرى من خلال دراسات معمقة، وتشجيع استخدام النقل العام.

Sustainable urban transport aims to improve the current transport system, facilitate the monitoring of transport activities, ensure that social and economic activities are linked to the urban environment while proposing the phased growth of the transport system and achieving a reasonable and appropriate arrangement and organization of urban land uses leading to the achievement of sustainable urban development of the country. The problem of the research is that Iraq suffers from problems in transport represented by the incompatibility of the system with the increase in population in society, and from the inefficiency of urban roads in cities, and the research assumes that sustainable urban transport contributes to the preservation of the environment and the provision of efficient transportation to citizens, and aims to try to benefit from global experiences in sustainable urban transport and try to apply them in Iraq. The research reaches several conclusions, the most important of which is to reach a sustainable urban transport that must pay attention to public transport and activate it and increase the number of mass buses, and that reliance on personal means of transport led to a lack of interest in public transport and also led to a lack of attention to the cleanliness of public transport vehicles. The research recommended the enactment of planning legislation to be adopted by planning and executive bodies to ensure sustainability in the field of transport, benefit from sustainable transport plans from other countries through in-depth studies, and encourage the use of public transport.
