المستخلص: Jam‘u al-Fawa’id wa Jawahir al-Qala’id is one of the books that contains numerous narrations about fada’il al-a‘mal. In this book, Shaykh Dawud al-Fatani has given a brief explanation of his approach to argumentation for the hadiths in this category. When this approach is specifically examined, it is seen to be different from that used by the majority of hadith scholars. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to examine and critically evaluate Shaykh Dawud’s method of presenting the hadiths of fada’il al-a‘mal in Jam‘u al-Fawa’id wa Jawahir al-Qala’id. While also comparing his method to the methods employed by the majority of hadith scholars on this issue. This research is completely qualitative and involves data collection through library research. The data obtained will be analysed based on inductive and deductive methods. The findings of the study found that Shaykh Dawud accepted the narration of mardud as invalid as an argument in fada’il al-a‘mal. Thus, this method is indirectly different from the method of the majority of hadith scholars. Apart from that, the findings also show that he followed the Sufi method of argumentation for this category of hadith.
