|b This paper deals with the topic of black heroes in the Arab Folk Siras. It deals with three Siras (Sira Bani Hilal, Sira Antara and Sirat Al Amira Dhat Al Hemmah). In these Siras, we find a passive image of the black heroes because of the color of their skins, which resulted in treating them as slaves, though they were of noble genealogy, and could defend the Arabs against their enemies. This study discusses the image that was reflected by the black as marginalized in these three popular Siras, from the perspective of the cultural criticism, and stresses these key points: - The historic and social status of black on the popular and official levels, - The images of black heroes in the three popular Siras, - The myth of black colored-people in the Arab community, - The need to study this issue in the light of cultural criticism.
