المستخلص: تهدف الورقة لمعرفة واقع مكتبات جامعة غرب كردفان، من حيث مبانيها، تجهيزاتها، وتأثيثها. وذلك لأهمية أبنية وتجهيزات المكتبة في تحقيق أهداف الجامعة المتمثلة في التعليم، البحث العلمي، وخدمة المجتمع. ولأجل ذلك قامت الباحثة بالاطلاع على الدراسات التي تناولت الموضوع واقتبست بعض المفاهيم لصياغة الجانب النظري. تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، لوصف وتحليل واقع مكتبات جامعة غرب كردفان من حيث نشأتها، أهدافها، مبانيها، أثاثها، وتجهيزاتها. واستخدمت أداة الاستبانة للإجابة عن تساؤلات البحث واختبار فرضياتها. وأظهرت نتائج البحث: أن موقع مباني المكتبات المدروسة سهل الوصول إليه، لكنه بالقرب من مكان الضوضاء، ومعظم كليات الجامعة لا توجد بها مكتبات خاصة، وقاعة الإطلاع الموجودة ضيقة، وأنه لم تخصص أماكن وتجهيزات لذوي الحاجات الخاصة. توصي الورقة بأن على الإدارة العليا بالجامعة أن تعي بأن تحقيق أهدافها ووظائفها التعليمية والبحثية مرهون بتهيئة أبنية وتجهيزات ومجموعات مكتباتها، لذلك يجب الاهتمام بأمرها، وعمل مكتبة كلية وقسم ما أمكن. وفي حالة ضعف الميزانية على إدارة المكتبات أن تناشد أبناء الوطن الخلص للمساعدة في بناء وتجهيز المكتبات تتناسب مع أعداد الطلاب. وعند التفكير في بناءها، يجب التخطيط الجيد لذلك والاستعانة بالخبراء في كافة المجالات التي لها علاقة بالمكتبات، وكذلك المواصفات العالمية، مع الأخذ بعوامل المستقبل. والاهتمام أيضا بتجهيزات ذوي الحاجات الخاصة.

The paper aims to know the reality of West Kordofan University libraries, in terms of their buildings, equipment, and furnishing. This is due to the importance of the library’s buildings and equipment in achieving the objectives of the university which represented in: education, scientific research, and community service.For this reason, the researcher reviewed the studies that dealt with the subject and borrowed some concepts to formulate the theoretical aspect. The descriptive approach was used to describe and analyze the reality of West Kordofan University libraries in terms of their inception, objectives, buildings, furniture, and equipment. The questionnaire tool was used to answer the research questions and test its hypotheses. The results of the research showed: The location of the studied library buildings is easy to access, but it is near the place of noise. Most of the university's faculties do not have private libraries, and the existing reading hall is narrow, and no places and equipment have been allocated for people with special needs. The paper recommends that the university's senior management should be aware that the achievement of its educational and research objectives and functions depends on preparing its library buildings, equipment, and groups. Therefore, attention must be paid to its matter, and the establishment of a college library and a department as possible. In the event of a weak budget, the library administration should appeal to loyal citizens to help build and equip libraries commensurate with the number of students. And when thinking about building them, good planning must be done, and the assistance of experts in all fields related to libraries, as well as international standards, must be requested, taking into consideration future factors. And attention is also paid to facilities for people with special needs.
